When investigating inner ear (vestibular) balance problems, doctors have several specialized tests. These can include Videonystagmography (VNG) or Electronystagmography (ENG) to record eye movements in response to different stimuli, caloric testing (using warm and cool air/water in the ear canal), and often hearing tests. Posturography, which measures your ability to maintain balance on a moving platform, might also be used. These tests help identify if and where the balance system is impaired. Preparing by accurately describing your symptoms and their triggers helps guide which tests are most relevant. What was your experience undergoing these balance tests?
