Identifier

FHIR Identifier datatype

Updated

An Identifier in FHIR is a business identifier made of a system (the namespace that issued it, as a URL or OID) and a value, such as a national health number or a hospital MRN.

It is distinct from the resource's technical id on the server, and a Patient can carry several Identifiers from different issuers.
