Health Connect & Android

Everything your Android phone and watch measure, in one health record

Health Connect is where Android keeps health data from your watch and apps. Anpheros Daily reads it, with your permission, and adds it to one timeline with your symptoms, lab results, medications and visits.

The Basic plan is free. iPhone, Android, Mac and web.

3D figure of a person running

On Android, each device has its own app: Fitbit for a Pixel Watch, Garmin Connect, Oura, Withings Health Mate, Samsung Health. Health Connect is the shared store they write into. Anpheros Daily reads Health Connect, so one connection brings in data from all the apps that share there — and places it next to the rest of your health, not in one more separate chart.

Heart

Heart rate as 4-hour summaries, resting heart rate and heart rate variability.

Sleep

Sleep sessions with stages, from your watch or ring.

Activity

Steps, distance, calories and workouts, day by day.

Measurements

Weight, blood pressure, glucose, temperature and blood oxygen, when a device writes them to Health Connect.

Which devices reach Anpheros Daily

Anpheros Daily reads Health Connect. A device's data arrives when its own app shares with Health Connect, which you switch on in that app:

Device Through
Pixel Watch, Fitbit the Fitbit app, Health Connect settings
Garmin Garmin Connect (Android 14 or later)
Oura the Oura app, Health Connect settings
Withings scales, monitors and watches Withings Health Mate
Samsung Galaxy Watch Samsung Health — see Samsung Health

Each app decides what it shares and how often, so a number can appear in Anpheros Daily a little later than in the device's own app. Scores that a brand calculates itself, such as Garmin's Body Battery or Oura's Readiness, are not shared through Health Connect.

What Anpheros Daily reads

Only the types you allow on Android's own permission screen: heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, blood pressure, glucose, temperature, weight and body composition, sleep with stages, steps, distance, calories, workouts, water and nutrition. At the first connection it imports the last 30 days, then keeps up each time you open the app. Data from the watch belongs to the account holder's own record.

Why one record matters

Your watch app shows your watch's numbers. Anpheros Daily shows them next to what else happened: the fever on Thursday, the antibiotic you started, the blood test from last month. Everything is stored in your medical record in HL7 FHIR, the format hospitals use, each value marked as coming from a device. Your doctor can see it with your consent, and you can export it whenever you want.

There is also an Anpheros Daily app for Wear OS watches: the day's state and a quick "how do you feel" from your wrist.

How to connect

  1. In your device's app (Fitbit, Garmin Connect, Oura, Withings), switch on sharing with Health Connect.
  2. Install Anpheros Daily and create an account.
  3. In Devices, choose Health Connect and pick the data you want to share. Your last 30 days appear on the timeline.

You can stop at any time from Devices or from Health Connect's settings, and choose whether the data already copied stays in your record.

Connecting Health Connect is part of the Plus and Max plans. Plus has a 7-day trial, no card required. You can also enter measurements by hand on the free Basic plan.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install Health Connect?

On Android 14 and later it is built in. On older versions the app asks you to install it from Google Play.

Why is a number different from my watch app?

Your watch app may not have shared its latest data with Health Connect yet, or it shares only some types. Open the watch app to sync, then open Anpheros Daily.

Does Anpheros Daily connect to my Fitbit or Garmin account?

No. It does not ask for your Fitbit or Garmin password. It reads what those apps share with Health Connect on your phone, with your permission.

Does Anpheros Daily write to Health Connect?

No. It only reads, and only the types you allowed.
