Short answer: with your parent's agreement, create a profile for them in a family health record app and keep their medications, doses, appointments, conditions, allergies and lab results there. In Anpheros Daily you get dose reminders, a PDF report for each visit and an emergency card with the essentials, and if your parent later wants their own account, you transfer the whole record to them.
When a parent gets older, the person who knows their medical history is often a son or a daughter: which tablets in the morning, which in the evening, when the cardiology check is, what the last blood test showed. That knowledge usually lives in a notebook, a bag of boxes and a phone full of photos of prescriptions. Put in one place, it becomes something you can show any doctor in a minute.
Ask first
Your parent's health data belongs to them. Talk to them before you start, keep only what they agree to, and show them what you note. If your parent can no longer decide for themselves, access to their data follows the legal rules of your country for representatives.
What to keep
- Medications: each one with its dose and times, so you can answer "what does she take?" exactly. Daily reminders help you and your parent not to miss a dose.
- Appointments and doctors: GP, specialists, the dates of checks, and the letters from each visit.
- Conditions and allergies: what a new doctor or an emergency team must know first.
- Measurements: blood pressure, glucose, weight, entered by hand or from connected devices.
- Lab results and documents: blood tests, discharge letters, prescriptions, scanned from paper.
How it works in Anpheros Daily
Profiles for family members are part of the Plus plan; your own record is free on Basic.
- In your account, add a profile for your parent, with their own colour, so their entries never mix with yours.
- Start with the medication list: photograph the boxes and check the names and doses.
- Add the next appointments and scan the latest letters and results.
- Before each visit, generate a PDF report for the period, or show the record on your phone.
See the family health record page for how profiles work, and the medication tracker for doses and reminders.
Sharing with doctors and with siblings
- A doctor can get access to your parent's record for the period you choose; every opening is logged and you can withdraw it.
- A brother or sister who helps can see the same profile in their own account through a QR code, so everyone works from the same list.
- In an emergency, the emergency card shows medications, allergies, conditions, blood group and contacts.
If your parent wants their own account
When your parent starts using the app themselves, you can transfer their record to their account, with the whole history. From then on, they decide who sees it.
What the app does not do
Anpheros records and organises; it does not diagnose and does not recommend medicines or doses. Medication changes are decided by the doctor. In an emergency, call 112 or your local emergency number.
Frequently asked questions
Can I manage my parent's medications from my phone?
Yes. Their medications, doses and times sit in their own profile, with daily reminders, and you can show the list at any visit or pharmacy.
Does my parent need a smartphone?
No. You keep their profile in your account, with their agreement. If they want to use the app later, you can transfer the record to them.
Can my siblings see the same information?
Yes, if you share the profile with them by QR code. Everyone sees the same, up-to-date record, and you can withdraw access.
How do I prepare for my parent's doctor appointment?
Generate a report for the period since the last visit (medications, measurements, symptoms, new results) and note your questions. Our guide on preparing for a doctor's appointment has a checklist.
Is my parent's data safe?
It is stored in the European Union, under the GDPR, and you can export it in the standard HL7 FHIR R4 format. Only the people you and your parent choose can see it.
Keep your medical record with you
