Short answer: keep your record in one app you control, then share it in one of three ways: a time-limited link to your health summary that opens on any phone or computer, a standard file (the International Patient Summary) that hospitals' systems read, or direct access that the clinic requests and you approve for a period you choose. In Anpheros Daily all three are free, every opening is logged, and you can withdraw access at any time.
Most people share their medical history the slow way: a folder of paper, a forwarded e-mail with ten PDFs, or a form filled in from memory in the waiting room. Each copy you hand over is gone for good, and the new doctor still has to read through it. Sharing a record well means three things at once: the doctor gets what they need in a format they can use, you decide for how long, and you can see who opened it.
Three ways to share, from quickest to most complete
1. A time-limited link to your summary
The quickest option for a single visit. In the app you create a link (and its QR code) that opens your health summary: allergies, medications, conditions, vaccinations, recent results and vital signs. You choose whether it expires and can add a password. The link follows the open SMART Health Links standard: the content travels encrypted and is decrypted on the receiving side.
The summary is generated each time the link is opened, so the doctor sees today's medication list, not last month's. You see how many times and when the link was opened, and you can cancel it with one tap.
Good for: a new GP, a specialist you see once, a doctor abroad, a pharmacist.
2. A standard file: the International Patient Summary
The International Patient Summary (IPS) is the format European and international health systems agreed on for a patient's essential data. From the app you download it as a PDF to print or e-mail, or as an HL7 FHIR file that another app or a hospital system can import. Our guide on the International Patient Summary explains what it contains.
Good for: hospitals and clinics with their own system, moving to a new practice, keeping a copy offline.
3. Direct access the clinic requests and you approve
The most complete option, for a doctor or clinic that follows you over time. If the clinic works with Anpheros, it sends an access request to your account. You get it in the app and by e-mail, with the clinic's name. You choose for how long, 30 days, 90 days or 1 year, then tap Allow or Don't allow. Nothing is shared until you allow it.
While access is active, results the clinic records can appear in your record on their own, and the doctor sees your history without you resending anything. Every read is in your access log.
Good for: your regular GP, a specialist who manages a long-term condition, a clinic that runs your lab tests.
How to take access back
Open Connections in the app. Every clinic, app and link with access is listed there, with what it can see and until when. Tap Revoke access and it stops from that moment. Links can also be cancelled from the screen where you created them. Access you gave for a fixed period also ends on its own.
Revoking stops future access. It does not erase what a doctor already saw or copied into their own system during a visit, just as a paper copy you handed over stays with them. That is why the time-limited options exist.
What makes this different from e-mailing PDFs
- You decide the period. A PDF in someone's inbox is there forever. A link or access has an end date.
- You see who opened it. Every opening and every read is logged, and you can check the log.
- The doctor gets structured data, not pictures of paper. Results with their units and reference ranges, medications by active substance, conditions with standard codes, readable in the doctor's own language.
- It works across borders. The summary uses international standards (HL7 FHIR R4, IPS, LOINC, ATC, ICD-10), so a clinic in another country can read it.
The standards are explained in plain words in our guide on what FHIR is.
Step by step, the first time
- Download Anpheros Daily for iPhone or Android, or open app.anpheros.com in a browser.
- Add the essentials: allergies, current medications, main conditions, vaccinations, your last lab report. Scanning the documents is enough.
- Before the visit, create a link to your summary, or download the IPS as PDF.
- Show the QR code or send the link. If the clinic works with Anpheros, ask them to send an access request instead.
- After the visit, check Connections and revoke anything you no longer need.
What the app does not do
It does not decide anything about your health and does not interpret your data. It keeps your record in order and lets you share it. Decisions stay between you and your doctor.
Frequently asked questions
What is the safest way to share medical records with a new doctor?
A time-limited link or direct access that you approve, rather than e-mailing files. Both end on a date you choose, show you who opened them, and can be revoked. A PDF sent by e-mail cannot be taken back.
Does the clinic need to use Anpheros?
No. A link opens in any browser, and the International Patient Summary can be printed or imported by any system that reads HL7 FHIR. Only direct, ongoing access requires the clinic to work with Anpheros.
Can I choose for how long a clinic has access?
Yes. When a clinic requests access you choose 30 days, 90 days or 1 year. Links can have an expiry date. In every case you can revoke access earlier from Connections.
Can I see who looked at my record?
Yes. Every opening of a link and every read by a clinic or app is in your access log, with the date.
Is it free?
Yes. Your record, the links, the IPS export and approving clinic access are all part of the free Basic plan.
Where is my data stored?
In the European Union, under the GDPR, in the standard HL7 FHIR R4 format. You can export everything and delete your account at any time.
Can I share my child's or my parent's record?
Yes. Each person has their own profile, and you share from that profile. Family profiles are part of the Plus and Max plans.
Keep your medical record with you
Anpheros Daily keeps symptoms, lab results, medications and documents in one place, in a standard format, under your control. The Basic plan is free.
