OpenID Connect
OIDC
OpenID Connect is the identity layer on top of OAuth 2.0: it adds an ID token (a signed JWT) that tells the app who the user is, with standard claims and a discovery document.
SMART uses it through the openid and fhirUser scopes so an app learns which practitioner or patient is logged in.
