Pseudonymisation

Updated

Pseudonymisation replaces direct identifiers with a key or token so that the data can no longer be attributed to a person without additional information that is kept separately.

Under the GDPR it is a safeguard, not an exemption: pseudonymised health data is still personal data, unlike anonymised data.
