openEHR

Updated

openEHR is an open specification for storing a lifelong electronic health record, built on a stable reference model plus clinician-authored archetypes and templates that define the clinical content.

It is designed for persistence inside a record system, whereas FHIR is designed for exchange, so the two are often used together rather than as alternatives.
