RxNorm

Updated

RxNorm is the US National Library of Medicine's code system for clinical drugs, with a normalised name and code for each ingredient, strength and dose form (for example "metformin 500 mg oral tablet").

US Core and USCDI require it for medications; outside the US, ATC or national product catalogues are used instead, and a ConceptMap is needed between them.
