In short: when a child has a fever, the doctor will ask how high it went, when, how you measured it, what you gave and when, and whether the child is drinking. At 3 a.m. nobody remembers. This log keeps every check on one page, in °C and °F, on your phone or printed. It does not suggest doses and does not tell you whether the fever is serious: if you are worried, contact your doctor or local health service, and in an emergency call your local emergency number. To keep your child's symptoms, medicines and vaccinations in one record, Anpheros Daily has a profile for each family member.

Every check, in order

Time, temperature and where you measured, sorted automatically.

What you gave, and when

Write the medicine and dose as on the label, so you and the doctor can see the timing.

°C and °F

Every temperature is shown in both units, whichever thermometer you use.

How to use it

  1. Choose the unit of your thermometer, °C or °F. Add the child's first name and age if you want them on the sheet.
  2. Each time you take the temperature, add an entry: time, value and where you measured (ear, forehead, armpit, mouth or rectal).
  3. If you give a medicine, write its name and the dose exactly as on the label, in the same entry.
  4. Note what matters: drinking, wet nappies or toilet visits, sleep, rash, vomiting.
  5. Show the log on your phone at the appointment, print it, or copy it into a message.

Why where you measured matters

Readings differ by site. Forehead and ear thermometers are quick but vary more; armpit readings tend to be lower; rectal readings are the reference for babies in many guidelines. Writing the site next to each value lets the doctor read the numbers correctly. Use the same method each time where you can.

When to get help

This log is a record, not an assessment. Follow your doctor's or your local health service's advice. Public health services such as the NHS advise getting medical advice straight away for a baby under 3 months with a temperature of 38 °C (100.4 °F) or higher, and seeking urgent help for signs such as a rash that does not fade when pressed with a glass, difficulty breathing, unusual drowsiness or signs of dehydration. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Frequently asked questions

Does the log tell me how much medicine to give?

No. Dosing depends on the medicine, the child's weight and age and the label or your pharmacist's advice. The log records what you gave and when, so you do not give a dose too early by mistake and the doctor sees the timing.

Is the log saved?

Yes, in this browser on this device, so you can add entries through the night. Nothing is sent anywhere. "Start a new log" clears it.

Can I use it for an adult?

Yes. Leave the age empty or write it in. For a longer illness, a symptom diary may suit better.

What temperature is a fever?

Many health services use 38 °C (100.4 °F) or higher as the usual definition of fever in children, with differences by age and measuring site. Your doctor's or local service's guidance applies.

Can I share it with the other parent or a babysitter?

Copy it as text and send it, or print it. In Anpheros Daily the child's profile can be shared with another parent, with access you control.
