ICD-10
International Classification of Diseases, 10th revision
ICD-10 is the WHO classification of diseases and health problems, with alphanumeric codes such as E11 (type 2 diabetes), used worldwide for mortality statistics, reimbursement and reporting.
Many countries publish national variants (ICD-10-CM in the US, ICD-10-GM in Germany) with extra detail, which is why the same disease can carry slightly different codes across borders.
