IHE
Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise
IHE is an initiative that writes integration profiles: precise recipes for using existing standards (HL7, DICOM, FHIR) together to solve one clinical workflow, such as sharing documents between hospitals.
Vendors test their products against the profiles at Connectathons, and national programmes often require specific IHE profiles rather than the raw standards.
