ATNA

Audit Trail and Node Authentication (IHE profile)

Updated

ATNA is the IHE profile that requires every node in a health information exchange to authenticate itself with TLS certificates and to send a standard audit record for each access to patient data.

Its audit message is what the FHIR AuditEvent resource mirrors, and national records such as ELGA depend on it for the patient's access log.
