HIS
Hospital Information System
A HIS is the hospital's central administrative and clinical system: patient registration, admissions, transfers, billing and usually the clinical record itself.
It is the source of ADT messages that every other hospital system listens to, and the hub that an interface engine connects to the lab, radiology and pharmacy.
