Data processor
Processor (GDPR Article 4(8))
A data processor is a person or organisation that processes personal data on behalf of a controller and on its documented instructions, such as a hosting or software provider.
The relationship must be governed by a contract under Article 28 GDPR; a processor that decides its own purposes for the data becomes a controller for that processing.
