European Reference Networks

Updated

European Reference Networks are 24 virtual networks of specialised hospital centres across the EU and Norway for rare, low-prevalence and complex diseases, launched in 2017 under Directive 2011/24/EU.

Patients do not contact them directly; their doctor, with the patient's consent, can have a case reviewed by experts in other countries through the Clinical Patients Management System (CPMS).
