Terminology server
A terminology server is a FHIR server that hosts code systems, value sets and concept maps and answers questions about them through operations such as $lookup, $validate-code, $expand and $translate.
Applications call it instead of bundling LOINC or SNOMED CT themselves, which keeps codes current and licences in one place.
