Data permit

EHDS data permit for secondary use

Updated

A data permit is the decision by which a health data access body allows a specific applicant to process electronic health data for a stated secondary-use purpose, such as research or public health.

It fixes the datasets, purpose, duration and safeguards; the data is processed only in a secure processing environment, and some purposes, such as advertising or insurance decisions about individuals, are excluded.
