UDI-PI
Unique Device Identifier, Production Identifier
The UDI-PI is the variable part of a medical device's unique identifier, giving the lot or batch number, serial number, manufacturing date, expiry date or software version of the unit in hand.
It is printed on the label and in the barcode next to the UDI-DI but is not stored in EUDAMED or GUDID, which hold device-level data; hospitals capture it at the point of use for traceability and recalls.
