AE Title
Application Entity Title (DICOM)
An AE title is the name, up to 16 characters, that identifies a DICOM application such as a scanner, PACS or workstation on the network, used together with its IP address and port.
Both sides check the calling and called AE titles when an association opens, so a new device usually has to be registered on the PACS before it can send or retrieve images.
