XCPD
Cross-Community Patient Discovery
XCPD is the IHE profile that lets one health community ask another whether it knows a patient, by sending demographics and receiving any matching identifiers in that community.
It is the identification step before an XCA document query, and it is used in cross-border and nationwide exchanges such as MyHealth@EU and US health information networks.
