Defined Daily Dose

The DDD is the assumed average daily maintenance dose of a medicine for its main indication in adults, assigned by the WHO to substances in the ATC classification.

It is a unit of measurement for comparing medicine consumption across countries and over time, not a recommended or prescribed dose.
