DRG
Diagnosis-Related Group
A DRG groups hospital stays that are expected to use similar resources, assigned by grouper software from the coded diagnoses, procedures, age and discharge status.
Each group carries a payment weight, so DRGs drive hospital reimbursement in the US (MS-DRG), Germany (G-DRG) and many other countries, each with its own version.
