HCPCS
Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System
HCPCS is the US code set for billing procedures, services and supplies: Level I is the AMA's CPT, and Level II adds alphanumeric codes (such as E0601) for items like equipment, drugs and ambulance services.
CMS maintains Level II and requires HCPCS codes on Medicare and Medicaid claims for outpatient care.
