FHIR reference
FHIR Reference data type
A FHIR reference is the data type that links one resource to another, either by a relative or absolute URL (Patient/123), by a business identifier, or to a contained resource.
References are how FHIR builds a graph of connected data, for example an Observation pointing to its Patient and Encounter, and they are what _include and $everything follow.
