JWT
JSON Web Token
A JWT is a compact, signed JSON token that carries claims such as issuer, subject and expiry, and is the common format for ID tokens and client assertions in OAuth and OpenID Connect.
In health APIs, SMART Backend Services and UDAP clients authenticate by sending a short-lived JWT signed with their private key, which the server checks against the registered public key.
