LOINC panel

LOINC panel (battery) term

Updated

A LOINC panel is a LOINC code that stands for a set of tests or questions, such as 24323-8 for a comprehensive metabolic panel or 57021-8 for a CBC with automated differential, with its child LOINC codes listed in a fixed structure.

Laboratories use panel codes for orders and report headers while each result carries its own component code, and the same structure represents assessment forms and surveys.
