ONC Health IT Certification Program

Updated

The ONC Health IT Certification Program is the voluntary US programme, launched in 2010 and run by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT, that tests and certifies EHRs and other health IT against criteria adopted by HHS.

Certified products are listed in the Certified Health IT Product List (CHPL), and CMS programmes such as Promoting Interoperability require hospitals and clinicians to use certified technology.
