CMS Promoting Interoperability Programs

Updated

Promoting Interoperability is the CMS programme, formerly the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs created under the HITECH Act, in which hospitals and clinicians report measures on their meaningful use of certified EHR technology (CEHRT).

Eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals report through the Medicare programme and clinicians through the Promoting Interoperability category of MIPS; the Medicaid programme ended in 2021.
