Safe Harbor (HIPAA)
HIPAA Safe Harbor de-identification method
Safe Harbor is one of the two HIPAA de-identification methods: it removes 18 listed identifiers, such as names, most dates and geographic units smaller than a state, and requires no actual knowledge that the rest could identify someone.
It is simple to apply but removes data many analyses need; the alternative is Expert Determination.
