Lab results

A lab results app that turns the report into values you can follow

Photograph the lab report or upload the PDF. The app reads each marker, its value and the reference range, keeps the original next to it, and shows you the same marker from one report to the next, so you see the direction, not one number.

The Basic plan is free. iPhone, Android, Mac and web.

The lab report arrives as a PDF, or on paper at the counter. You look for the bold numbers, find one, and search the internet for it. A year later, when the doctor asks "what was it last time?", the PDF is somewhere in an e-mail and the paper is gone. A lab results app is for exactly that moment: the value from last time, next to the one from today.

A photo is enough

Photograph the report or upload the PDF; the app reads the markers, values and ranges.

Values with their range

Each value sits on a bar showing where it falls in the reference range, with the original kept alongside.

Report after report

The same marker from earlier reports, lined up by date, in your record and in the PDF for your doctor.

Blood test results app: from a photo to values

Take a photo of the report, page by page, or upload the file you got from the laboratory. The app reads each marker, haemoglobin, glucose, cholesterol, TSH and the rest, with its value, its unit and the reference range printed on the report. You check what it read and save. The original stays in Documents, so you can always open the actual report.

If you have a handwritten result or a single value from a visit, you can also enter it by hand: marker, value, range.

Behind the scenes, each marker is coded to LOINC and each unit to UCUM, the standards laboratories themselves use. That is what lets the app treat "total cholesterol" from two different laboratories as the same thing, and convert mg/dL and mmol/L when they differ.

Lab values app: the same marker, year after year

A single value says little. The reference range on the report tells you where it falls today; it does not tell you whether it has been climbing for three years. In your record, each value is shown on a bar within its range, results outside the range are marked, and the same marker from earlier reports is lined up by date. That is the lab results chart people actually need: not a prettier number, but the direction.

What the app does not do is tell you what a value means for you. A result outside the range is a question for your doctor, and often nothing at all; our guide on how to read lab results explains why, and what to ask.

Lab results online: phone, Mac and browser

Every laboratory has its own portal and its own login, and the results stay there, one laboratory at a time. Anpheros is the place where all of them are kept together, under your account, on iPhone, Android, Mac and in the browser at app.anpheros.com. The report you photograph in the waiting room is on your computer when you get home.

If your laboratory or clinic works with Anpheros, you do not even need the photo: results arrive in your record on their own, through the lab connector built for laboratories.

Lab results and Apple Health

Apple's Health Records feature brings lab results from participating hospitals, mostly in the United States, into the Health app. Anpheros does not write your lab results into Apple Health. It does the reverse for measurements: on the Plus and Max plans it takes steps, sleep, heart rate, blood pressure and glucose from Apple Health and Health Connect and puts them on the same timeline as your laboratory values, so your doctor sees the glucose from the glucometer and the HbA1c from the laboratory side by side.

At the doctor

From the app you generate a PDF report with the results from a period, next to your medications, symptoms and measurements, and show it or send it before the appointment as a time-limited link. If your doctor works with Anpheros, you can give them access to your record for a period you choose.

On the Plus and Max plans, the AI assistant can explain a lab report in plain words and prepare your questions for the visit. It explains; it does not diagnose, and it says so when a question belongs with your doctor.

Who it helps

How to start

  1. Install the app or open app.anpheros.com and create an account.
  2. Tap "+", choose "Document" and photograph your last lab report.
  3. Check the values the app read and save.

The Basic plan is free and includes your lab results, with a number of document scans per month. Plus and Max include more scans, HD scans, data from your watch and the AI assistant.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free lab results app?

Yes. The Basic plan of Anpheros Daily is free and includes lab results read from a photo or a PDF, entered by hand, and the PDF report for your doctor. The number of document scans per month is limited on Basic and larger on Plus and Max.

Can I see my lab results online?

Yes. Everything you add from the phone is in the browser at app.anpheros.com and in the Mac app, with the same account. The app does not log into your laboratory's portal; you photograph or upload the report, or your laboratory sends it directly if it works with Anpheros.

Does it work with results from any laboratory?

Yes. The app reads the printed report of any laboratory, in any of the site's languages, and codes the markers to LOINC so results from different laboratories line up. If a marker is not recognised, you add it by hand and the app remembers it.

Does the app tell me if a result is abnormal?

It shows where each value falls in the reference range printed on your report and marks the ones outside it. It does not say what that means for you: a value outside the range is a question for your doctor, not a diagnosis.

Does it put my lab results into Apple Health?

No. Anpheros does not write to Apple Health. On the Plus and Max plans it reads measurements from Apple Health and Health Connect, steps, sleep, heart rate, blood pressure and glucose, and shows them next to your laboratory results.

Can I enter lab values by hand?

Yes. Add the marker, the value and the reference range, with the date. Hand-entered values join the same series as the ones read from reports.

Can I keep lab results for my children or parents?

Yes, on the Plus and Max plans, where each family member has their own profile and record. The results stay in your account; if the person has their own account you can share what you keep.

How does my doctor get my results?

Three ways: a PDF report you show or send as a time-limited link; direct access to your record, if the doctor works with Anpheros, approved by you for a period you choose; or an International Patient Summary, the standard summary any European hospital can read.
