Modality Worklist (MWL)
DICOM Modality Worklist
Modality Worklist is the DICOM service with which a scanner asks the RIS for its scheduled procedures and receives each patient's name, ID, accession number and requested procedure.
It is formally the Basic Worklist Management service, a C-FIND on the worklist, and it replaces manual typing at the modality, the main source of images filed under the wrong patient.
