MRG
Merge Patient Information segment (HL7 v2)
MRG is the HL7 v2 segment that names the old identifiers, such as a prior patient ID, account or visit number, that are being merged into the record identified in PID.
It travels in ADT merge events such as A40, and receiving systems use it to combine duplicate records created for the same person.
