Post-coordination
Post-coordination means expressing a clinical idea by combining several codes, such as a SNOMED CT finding refined by a body site and laterality, instead of picking one ready-made (pre-coordinated) code.
SNOMED CT and ICD-11 both support it, but receiving systems must be able to store and interpret the combined expression for the detail to survive exchange.
