SOP Class
Service-Object Pair Class (DICOM)
A DICOM SOP Class pairs a type of object, such as CT Image Storage or Basic Text SR, with the service that acts on it, and each one is identified by a UID (1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.2 for CT Image Storage).
Devices list the SOP Classes they support in their conformance statements, and two systems can exchange an object only if they agree on its SOP Class when the association is negotiated.
