$subsumes
FHIR $subsumes operation
$subsumes is the FHIR terminology operation that tests whether one code is the same as, broader than, narrower than or unrelated to another code in the same code system.
Applications use it on a terminology server to ask hierarchy questions, for example whether a recorded SNOMED CT finding falls under a broader concept, without loading the whole code system.
