XDS-I.b
Cross-enterprise Document Sharing for Imaging
XDS-I.b is the IHE Radiology profile that extends XDS to imaging: the registry indexes a manifest of each study, while the images stay in the PACS and are fetched with DICOM or DICOMweb.
It lets a hospital or region share studies and radiology reports without copying the images into a central store, and it is used by several national and regional imaging networks.
