PIR
IHE Patient Information Reconciliation
PIR is the IHE Radiology profile that extends Scheduled Workflow to exams done on unidentified or misidentified patients, for example an emergency patient registered under a temporary name.
When the identity is corrected or records are merged in the HIS, HL7 v2 ADT updates reach the RIS and PACS so that the images and reports end up under the right patient.
